Feline Acne
Acne is not a teenaged cat disease! Acne in cats also tends to develop just on the chin rather than over the whole muzzle area. There is a wide spectrum of appearances of this condition. Some cats just get a one-time case of the zits, while others get recurring outbreaks, or even constant acne. Severity can range from small pimples with beige-brown to black crusty discharge sitting in the fur at the base of the hairs, to severe acne with boils/abscesses forming in the deep tissues, causing the chin to swell up. When it becomes advanced like this, the acne can be quite painful and hair loss over the chin may occur. Sometimes the scabby crusty material really builds up and can coat the chin and less commonly, lip area.

Nobody is sure why some cats get acne, why some cats keep getting repeat bouts, and why in some cats it is so much more severe than in others. Poor immune system function, inhalant allergy, poor grooming, and food, food dish, or food mite allergy, or other environmental allergy have all been proposed.

Acne will be distinguished from other infections (including Malassezia yeast, ringworm), skin cancer, mites, and eosinophilic granuloma complex by your veterinarian during the professional assessment.

The treatment depends on the severity of the acne. Mild cases are often treated with shampoos or gels and topical antibiotic cream, while more severe cases are treated with oral antibiotics as well to counteract the infection deep in the tissues. Surgical intervention may be needed in very advanced cases. Vitamin A prescription cream has also been used. Sometimes, periodic application of cream and chin bathing are applied long-term to help keep acne in check.

One should avoid trying to burst the boils in the chin since this can lead to rupture of the infection inside the skin and results in worsened inflammation. Your veterinarian may elect to gently shave off the chin area during acne treatment to help keep water or food from clinging to the irritated skin.

Not a life threatening condition of cats, but as with people, advanced acne can cause scarring and pain and the most severely affected cats may lose their appetite.

the lease is being signed on sunday. found a girl who actually lived a few doors down and moved in with her parents about a month ago. im stoked. decided upon having a house warming to celebrate a new begining and start fresh. No more Diana or Peter ever..again.. should be good. had an argument with peter over a colinda i bought last year in marrickville. i have to get another which is fine but he is such a bastard.
*later note* turns out the colinda is mine - hah!

im glad this is the end of an era or so it seems heh. been okay as of late. went to a birthday party at Helm bar last saturday night after i met a guy i couldnt keep my eyes off of at the jazzy cafe down the road. mm. will keep updated. stayed in friday night - was ment to go to a farewell but forgot about it and only remembered it was on once i hit home. ah well.
had dinner with dawn and sam on monday night in china town and am totally hooked on dumplings and spirng onion pancakes ice tea and jellys. totall addictive.

i just drank four cups of coffee and im shaking. ugh. not good.
aNYways time to gett dressed.
managed to get a fridge and washer. they arrive on monday!
tomorrow the items that im getting include:

10 steps to getting a boyfriend

You know you don’t need to have a boyfriend but think it’ll be nice to have that special someone?
Well, if you’ve been dying to speak to that cute guy from PE or pining away for that hunky friend-of-a-friend you’ve seen so many times at parties, here’s your chance to find out the top ten tips to getting your dream guy:

1) Have confidence
If you see someone slouching or looking uncomfortable with themself, would you look twice? Having confidence will give you that extra something that grabs his attention even when you don’t think you’re looking you best. If you’ve got his attention, you’ve already passed the first hurdle.

2) Laugh and be positive
If you are projecting positive energy, a guy will naturally be more attracted to you. Who wouldn't want to spend time with someone who's always laughing and being positive? Be comfortable in your own skin and bring out your fun side!

3) Body language
There are some tell-tale signs you need to convey if you’re hoping to get that special boy's attention and let him know you’re interested. If your eyes meet from across the room, look directly in his eyes for just that extra second, mind you, not staring without blinking (or you’ll look like a mad stalker) and team it up with a gentle smile. This will give him the opportunity to come over and have a chat with you. Bingo.

4) Get a quick lesson on his favourite interests
Whether its rugby or football or some obscure rock band, do a little research. You can find lots of information on bands and sports online and talking about a subject you know he enjoys is a perfect conversation opener.

5) Play hard to get the right way
Some girls tend to think that ignoring a guy and acting like you’re not interested at all will get his attention. Wrong. You need to at least be on friendly terms with him. Listen to him when he speaks and act interested in the conversation.

8) Get along with his friends

9) Don’t act jealous

going over to Natashas on saturday night for movies and vegetarian nibbles. sunday afternoon going to the eastershow with rachael and natasha i think. looks as though billyboy isnt in the picture from the last i heard.. but we will soon find out..tomorrow at work that is. been using up my polaroid film in the last week or two, it expires in may and that will be the end of that.. film.. polaroid film.. tis the good shit. pity. ah well.

so i started the management position late last week. it was so boring! thankfully i only have to do it once a week for 8 hours. but ive learnt abit - enough to allow me to do better at my on the phones position. im still on the phones, though im not too concerned. i much prefer it then the management role. however this will get me into other positions. like trainer etc. dont know if i'd want to stay in this industry for more then 2 more years. god.

easter long weekend has certainly been a ver long weekend, i have another day off tomorrow. ate well over a dozen chocolate easter eggs. and i can feel it but the few extra kilos were worth it. :)

Told peter to go home this week, hes not on the lease - go home? its not hard. it doesnt bother me that he doesnt speak to me anymore but he blurt out that he and diana were going to be moving out. i think its because we arent friends anymore eh? not worried. more releived then anything. fact is. im staying. hah! yeah so things have been bumpy - friday for instance i wasnt told dianas family were comming over but they did, they did not say a word to me. they looked over at me but did not even say hello... they just did not see me. i was lying on my couch - was tempted to say hello but i just couldnt make that effort to raise my right arm and wave. yes they were sitting 2 metres away but they have stopped talking to me. over a piece of friggen paper. not sure what else diana has told her family but her old brother frank wouldnt step inside the house because i was here. they're all weird bastards.

Slept most of the weekend, it was so good to catch up on the hours ive missed. i went to mums on sunday morning for lunch - mums roasts are always the way (sunday rose = sunday roast) and corn on the cob. absolutely delish. oh yeah i started back on the corn - eating it that is.. i must say i do like it and ive not come out in a rash so things are good. ive stacked on a few kilos - my jeans feel much tighter and i have to wiggle my bum around to get my skinny jeans on. but i really do like them this way. think i'll go in tomorow and put a hold on my membership..gym membership.

going to see some art deco apartments tomorrow..around the place.. figured i'd get a wiggle on it..bowling tomorrow night, ive randomly suggested it and asked around and there seems to be a few people wanting to come out. which should be interesting. must not forget to book two lanes at darling harbour strike. i heart bowling.. and 3dollar beers. lol. tuesday night i went over to Poppys for dinner, headed home pondering on what to eat for dinner, i have no funds that i can withdraw as they've been locked away - for the good, i cant be trusted with large sums of moneys. speaking of moneys havent done the taxes yet.. really need to do them so i can get my 900 bucks from the goverment already.. and tax return.. anything would be ideal. lol
